Headstream

Web analytics connected to your Stripe revenue

Updated 2026-11-02

Headstream gives you the web analytics reports you'd expect, on one simple dashboard. It also connects them to Stripe, so a traffic report can tell you which visitors turned into revenue.

What you can see

Add one script tag to the shared layout of your site. Visits start showing up in your dashboard.

  • Traffic. Visitors, sessions and pageviews over time.
  • Breakdowns. Pages, referrers, UTM sources and campaigns, countries and cities.
  • Country map. See where your visitors are on a map.
  • Goals. Track a page visit or a custom event, with a conversion rate for each goal.
  • Saved dashboards. Keep the reports you check every week in one place.

You can filter by date range and by dimension. Move from a top-level number to the pages and sources behind it in a couple of clicks.

What the script tracks

The script records pageviews, clicks and scroll depth for you. You can send custom events for actions that matter to your product, and make an identify call when someone signs up.

It also reads these form fields when a visitor submits a form: email, name, company, phone and heard_about. Password and card fields are skipped. The visitor ID lives in a cookie called hs_vid that can last up to 400 days. That long life lets Headstream connect a first visit to a payment months later.

Headstream collects this data on purpose, because attribution needs it. It's built for accurate revenue data and isn't a cookieless tool. If your main requirement is no cookies at all, a different product will suit you better.

Why it's useful on its own

Traffic numbers are only useful if you believe them. So every headline metric has a Why this number page. It shows the definition, what's counted, what's left out, and the raw rows behind it.

Each project also gets a data quality page and a change log. The data quality page shows freshness, duplicates, filtered traffic and rejected events. The change log records anything that changes how your numbers are calculated. You can read the full approach on our trust page and our methodology.

Your data stays yours. You can do a full export of raw events through the app, API, MCP server or CLI.

From traffic to revenue

Connect Stripe with read-only access and your analytics gain a revenue column. Connecting Stripe is in beta. You can see which channels, campaigns and landing pages produce payments with revenue attribution, and put what buyers say next to it with self-reported attribution.

To go further, use funnels and flows to see where visitors drop off, or heatmaps and session recordings to see why. Our guide to marketing attribution explains the concepts behind these reports.

Set it up in minutes

Copy the script tag from your project settings and paste it into your site's shared head. If you use a coding agent, point it at the agent setup guide and it can do the install for you.

The free plan includes 10,000 events a month. Plans pool events across unlimited sites, and bots, clicks and scroll events don't count toward your total.

Questions

Does Headstream replace Google Analytics?
For many SaaS teams it can. It covers traffic, sources, pages, goals and funnels, and adds Stripe revenue. It doesn't import ad spend, so keep your ad platforms for that reporting.
Does Headstream use cookies?
Yes. It sets a cookie called hs_vid that can last up to 400 days, because connecting a first visit to a later payment needs a stable visitor ID.
What counts toward my event limit?
Pageviews and custom events count. Bots, clicks, scroll, experiment and recording events don't.
