Privacy policy

Headstream is run by Swipe Files LLC. This policy covers two groups: people who use Headstream, and visitors to websites that install it. Headstream collects a lot of detail on purpose, because that's what makes attribution accurate. We don't present it as a privacy-first product.

If you have a Headstream account

• Your name, email address, hashed password and team memberships.
• Billing details, handled by Stripe. We don't store card numbers.
• A phone number, if you turn on text alerts for downtime.
• Messages you send the assistant, which are processed by Anthropic to answer you.

We use this to run the service, bill you, send service emails and keep the product secure. We don't sell it.

If you visit a website that uses Headstream

That website's owner decides to use Headstream and controls this data. We process it for them, so ask them first about your rights. On their behalf, the script can collect:

• Pages viewed, referrers, campaign parameters and ad click IDs.
• Your IP address, browser, device and approximate location.
• Clicks and scroll depth.
• Details you enter in forms, such as email, name, company, phone and how you heard about them. Password and payment fields are skipped.
• Session recordings, if the site owner turns them on.
• Their payments from Stripe, linked to your visits, if they connect Stripe.

Cookies and storage

The script sets a first-party cookie called hs_vid, kept for up to 400 days, and a copy in local storage. It recognizes a returning browser. A session marker called hs_sid stays in session storage. Our dashboard uses cookies to keep you signed in.

How long we keep data

We keep data for the life of the account. Session recordings are removed after 90 days. Site owners can erase a person at any time, and we delete account data on request.

Who processes it

Data is stored in the United States. The providers we use are listed in our data processing terms.

Your rights

You may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your data, depending on where you live. If you're a site visitor, contact the site owner. Otherwise, email ch@coreyhaines.co.

Changes

We'll update this page when this policy changes, and tell account holders about material changes by email.
