Headstream vs PostHog
Updated 2026-11-02
PostHog is a broad toolkit for product teams, with analytics, replay, flags, experiments and more. Headstream is narrower and made for marketing questions. If engineers run your analytics, PostHog is hard to beat on breadth and free usage.

"Not listed" means we couldn't find it on PostHog's own site. It doesn't mean they don't offer it, so check with them. We reviewed their site on November 1, 2026.
Pricing
Headstream is free for 10,000 events a month, $99 for 250,000 and $299 for 1 million, pooled across unlimited sites. PostHog is free up to 1 million analytics events a month, then usage-based, so it costs less than Headstream at 250,000 and 1 million events.
Where PostHog is the better pick
Breadth and depth for product teams: flags, experiments, surveys, error tracking and a data warehouse in one product, with a large free tier. It also costs less.
When to choose Headstream
- Marketers need answers without building insights.
- You want credits reconciled to the Stripe ledger.
- You want self-reported answers next to tracked visits.
Moving from PostHog
Many teams can run both, using PostHog for product and Headstream for marketing. Add the Headstream script next to your current tag and run both for a few weeks. You can compare totals before you remove anything. Your agent can do the install from agent.md.
You can see how every number is calculated in our methodology. Stripe connection is in beta.
